American University of Lebanon - Beirut

  • The challenge in the design of the main campus of the American University of Lebanon was to introduce a campus life within a singular building. The building features eight floors above ground and seven underground achieving a total of 14 levels, each catering towards various university programs. The design distinguishes between opacity and transparency to differentiate spaces of learning and recreation respectively. The building also makes use of multi-story height openings and multiple terraces to maximize the open-air campus experience. Standing out in its context, the structure becomes an iconic billboard for this academic institution.
