Pre-Establishment of LDRS
(1979-1991)

During the civil war in Lebanon, Abdulwahed Chehab established his local design and real estate development office, A. Chehab Architects & Engineers, in 1979. With a vision to rebuild his home city of Saida, Abdulwahed launched his journey to design and develop affected areas during the war. New buildings were built, and damaged ones were restored.
After 10 years of developing new projects and rehabilitating buildings across Saida, Abdulwahed received several awards, including the prestigious Agha Khan Award given in 1989 for restoring the Great Omari Mosque.

Establishing LDRS
(1991)
After the end of the civil war in Lebanon, Abdulwahed believed that the design thinking he shaped throughout his years of experience must be shared across groups of people that aspire to lead and work under the same vision and purpose, which is to design for a better future in Lebanon.
For this reason, LDRS was born..
Post-Establishment of LDRS
(1991 – Today)
Upon founding LDRS, more planners, architects, and engineers were hired and trained under a shared purpose of designing a better future in Lebanon.
After 10 years of implementing LDRS’s purpose across a variety of projects in the country, the company understood that value of its approach to design, management, and implementation of projects should be shared with relevant visionary leaders and decision makers that are driven to make an impact in neighboring countries. This transformed LDRS into a regional design and management company providing innovative solutions that define a new generation of design thinking in the region.
Today, with more partners on board, LDRS has designed and managed over 1,000 projects globally. All our team members lead the same vision of a modernized and improved approach towards designing a better future for people, and preserving their history across the world.
